So many ways to transfer...

There are a number of different ways to transfer files using WS_FTP:

- Arrowing: Using the arrows to move from pane-to-pane.
- Drag-and-drop: Dragging files with the mouse cursor from pane-to-pane.
- Copy-and-paste: Using either the 'Edit' menu or keyboard shortcut.

I tend to drag-and-drop more than anything else. How do you usually transfer files? Leave a comment and let us know.

I update my web site daily and enjoy transferring my files to the host using the arrows and hearing the confirmation sound.

Your system has been trouble free since day one, thank you.

I use the arrows and welcome the verification of the confirmation sound. I wish there were some way to program a gentler sound into the app though as I have two dogs and a cat. I usually update in the small hours of the morning, and the animals are napping by my feet. When they hear that awful horn, they go ballistic.

To be honest, I didn't know drag and drop was an option. My provider, ShenValley Webhosting, recommended WS FTP_LE and I downloaded it and it is all I have ever used. I like it very much though.

American Daughter, you can change the sounds in WS_FTP. Read this issue of the FTPplanet.com Newsletter for details:

I tend to use the arrow on uploads and drag/drop on removals -- for no particular reason. Both work fine. I love the new interface in Pro. Mine is an amateur genealogy site. Rather simple stuff in great volume.

I tend to copy and past equally with drag and
drop. Looks pretty even all around by the fore-
going comments.

I have alway used the arrows to transfer my files from one pane to the other. The maine reason being is I most often transfer multiple files and it just seems easier to me that way.

Drag & drop works just fine for me. Single files or selected blocks. I have used WS_FTP for about 3 years.

I have allways used the arrows to transfer files, and it works fine. Like WS-FTP very much.

I often just double click on the file or folder to be transferred, works fine.

I use copy and paste, but will have to try the other two ways and see if they work for me also.
thanks

I did as you suggested. I added the opening phrases of "Jesu joy of man's desiring" as played by the Mill Run Dulcimer Band, and I added an end fade. Wow. Much nicer for me than that awful horn. I have always enjoyed using WS FTP_LE, and now even more so.

Unfortunately, it would only take a .wav file. So I used a music sequence from a CD. But I have a .mid version that I made for dueling banjos on one of my web sites. If you are taking a break some time, visit my other site, www.ivyhill.tv to hear the .mid version on the welcome page.

I hope you enjoy it!
