What is a WS_FTP Service Agreement?

Two questions we get asked often are What is a WS_FTP Service Agreement? and Do I need one of these Service Agreements to keep using WS_FTP?.

Let's answer these...

What is a WS_FTP Service Agreement?
Basically, you receive two things with an agreement: free upgrades while your Service Agreement is active and technical support from Ipswitch (the company that develops WS_FTP).

As an example, somebody with a WS_FTP Service Agreement would receive a free upgrade to WS_FTP 2006 when it is released and could then talk to (or e-mail) someone in technical support for information on one of the new features.

Do I need one of these Service Agreements to keep using WS_FTP?
Absolutely not. When you purchase the WS_FTP software, you can continue to use it under the license agreement without any additional purchases.

If you have additional questions on the WS_FTP Service Agreements, check out Ipswitch's Web site.

Have a question about WS_FTP, FTP in general or anything related? Post the question in our discussion forums or drop us a line. We can't respond to everyone individually, but we read everything we receive. Just like this entry, we'll respond with a blog entry to frequently asked questions.
