Save Time by Compressing Files

OK, I understand the 'compression' thingy but once uploaded to the remote server does the 'zip' file, unzip by itself or what exactly happens ????

Hi, i need urgent help, where can i find a ftp clint, i need that runs y dos mode, please!!!!!!!!!, i have not widnows installed only dos so y need it to download a .img of linux distributions, then install linux from hd, please y hope u response soon; thanks
