I have a nasty story to tell about ISPs.
When I joined Planet I looked around their site to see what was available. I was new to computers and did not realise what effect i would have just pressing a button. PLUS english was my mother tongue and I did not really understand nederlands.

I am an Arsenal fan and was playing with site names like Arsenal.nl etc...
I clicked on Gooner.nl and could not erase it. Now Planet are charging me every month for a site that i do not use and they will not let me surrender it.
Do they need this money?? NO..
Do I need the money ?? YES...

Despite many phone calls they will not give way.

I would never recommend Planet , not even to my worst friend.
Thankyou.

Prevoiusly hosted by A1-WebNames as www.melthamcrossroads.com and became due for renewal at £39.99. Sent cheque and was duly cashed but no renewal took place. Despite umpteen e-mails to A1-WebNames no replies were received. No telephone number available to have a one to one.

Changed host but could not transfer my URL because WebNames never acknowledged my request. had to change to new URL and still out of pocket £39.99.

Is there any way I could take an issue with this host?

Anonymous, I'm not sure how it works in the UK (I assume that's where you are?), but in the States, you can usually take up these issues in small claims court or filing a complaint with the state attorney general (of course, for such a low amount, court is probably not worth it and the attorney general would likely only take action for a number of complaints).
