What types of files do you transfer?
We're curious what type of files you commonly use FTP to transfer. Are they web pages? Images for auction listings? Digital photos? Other image files? Database files? Another type of file?

Much like Marlon Brando's character in "The Wild Ones," I find myself replying, "Whatcha got?" to the question of what kinds of files I transfer. At work and at home, I find myself transferring ALL kinds of files.

I think we're typical of many types of firms in that we FTP a great variety of files. Most are in PDF form to either reduce the size of the file or to give us a minimum level of protection against the information being changed (although now that PFD deconstruction software is common this doesn't offer much help). We FTP AutoCAD drawings, project documents, product data sheets,
PowerPoint presentations, speadsheets, word processing docs, MS Project files, photos, etc.

I use WS_FTP_LE to upload and maintain files for a couple of websites. Each has pages with text and pictures, and sometimes direction information with maps. The ability to see exactly what is on each website, and its file version dates is important. By clicking on the 'Date' tab the newest files rise to the top of the list, making it obvious which ones are to be updated from the master on the PC.
This program has all I need.
