What's Missing From FTP?
Is there a feature that you'd like to see in an FTP client? Or perhaps there is something you would like to see improved? Let us know what it is.
There are a lot of "hidden" features and workarounds...if we know of a way to do what you want, we'll tell you.
We will also pass your requests on to the WS_FTP development team.

Is there a way to lengthen the field with the directory name on the remote side? I'd like to be able to see the whole name without having to click on the arrow beside the name for long directory structures. (Maximizing the window doesn't do it.)

What version of WS_FTP are you using? You can do this in the 2006 versions by making the remote window wider (hover your mouse to the left border or the remote side until the cursor turns to a double arrow and then dragging). You can also make the field longer by removing buttons from the toolbar.
Both are workarounds, though, I'll pass this on as a feature request.
I don't believe you can do this in WS_FTP LE or older versions of WS_FTP Pro and Home.

I frequently deal with FTP tranfers to sites I'm developing, which have an elaborate folder tree.
I'd like to be able to do FTP tranfers from more than one folder without having to navigate back and forth every time. In other words, it would be good if I could have more than one "current folder" visible simultaneously (like two or more FTP windows)
My WS_FTP version is Home-9.02.2004.08.18

Hi Luiz: You can do something similar to what you're asking in WS_FTP Pro 2006 using the tabs feature. Basically, this feature lets you open multiple local and remote views and to toggle between them using tabs. I often have two tabs open for the same FTP site, each one open to a different folder. You can even save the tab configuration as a workspace (http://www.ftpplanet.com/tutorial/workspaces) so you don't need to open multiple tabs everytime you start up.
So, the good news is that you can do this. The other news is that you need to upgrade your version (Ipswitch offers a special price for WS_FTP Home users...see "Upgrade from WS_FTP Home" five listings down on this page: http://www.ipswitch.com/purchase/products/ws_ftp.asp)
