I can't seem to use your ftp program to log into my webpage to upload files. I use mlzauss.tripod.com with correct password but comes back and said no good. I have used your program and works for other pages from other sites ok.
If I use internet exp and log on using ftp.tripod.com I can transfer files but would like your program which is much faster to use.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi G.A., you should be able to get WS_FTP on a CD. Check out the Ipswitch web site and search for a reseller in your area (http://www.ipswitch.com/partners/directory.asp). They should be able to provide you with a CD that has the evaluation copy on it (or the paid one).

I use WS_FTP HOME for my personal website, but
-- because it doesn't support the secure
transfer (Secure FTP) required by my
institution -- I have to use FileZilla
(I use 2.2.16).
Is there a reason why the HOME edition doesn't
support Secure FTP?
Posted by: Randy Howard at July 25, 2006 07:05 PM
I have been using your WS_FTP LE (or maybe it is really 95) for the last 4 years, since it was made available.
My computer is 5 years old, and doesn't need anything fancy. The FTP I have works great, and I have never had a problem.
Posted by: Paul DeVerter at July 25, 2006 09:37 PM
http://www.ipswitch.com/support/ws_ftp/tutorials/tours/index.htm - It looks sooooo easy but the free version I have has an interface nothing like this and although I've tried, it's impossible to understand.
I'm hoping that leaving a comment will qualify me for a chance to win the pro software that appears useable... for years the mystery of FTP has eluded me.

I use SmartFTP which is a great FTP client.
It has a great control over the local and remote files, can send custom commands to the server (has preconfigured about two hundreds of commands for nine popular FTP servers), can limit transfer speed, has great transfer filtering options (by wildcards and by regexp), has transfer priority lists (also by wilcards and by regexp), has configurable (wildcards, regexp) transfer type (ascii/binary) lists, has support for transfer integrity check (CRC, MD5, SHA1) and a lot of other [un]useful features.
And, best of all, it's free (for personal, educational and non-commercial use).

I have used WS_FTP LE and loved it .... it was soeasy to tranfer my photos. Unfortunately, my computer went down in the early spring. I thought I hI had copied my files/programs to CD before taking my computer in for repairs. I lost my WS_FTP LE program. When I attempted to download it again, I found it is no longer offered. Itried using another ftp program; but was not satisfied with the manner files were transfered. Guess, I was just spoiled after using WS_FTP LE.
