Tiny cable may lead to numerous technological advances

Scientists have recently created an amazingly small cable that can transmit visible light at an alarmingly fast speed ..... and this new discovery could lead to many technology improvements.

"It's not quite the speed of light, but it's probably 90 percent the speed of light. That's still thousands of times faster than electronics. The invention has the potential to lead to numerous technological advances"

I'm trying to imagine just how small "several hundred times thinner than a human hair" actually is and all I can come up with is WOW!
