Food For Thought: Computer > Spouse?
Interesting survey tidbit: Americans prefer computer over spouse. 65% percent of Americans polled said they spend more time with their home computer than their spouse or significant other, according to research by Kelton Research Inc.
I remember someone warning me about this possible phenomenon. My recollection of this conversation is a little fuzzy, but it was definitely a familiar female voice....
Do you spend more time with your computer than with your meaningful personal relationships? Does your computer act as a crutch to shield you from reality? Now, if we could only spend as much time on our home computers as we do on our work computers!

I too had that same female voice in my head for the first year or two since getting my first PC. I was a new toy after all and I just 'had' to learn how to operate it. So much so that I probably spent a good six or seven hours a day on the thing.
Now, five years latter, my time is much more subdued with it. The wife probably uses it more for emailing back and forth with all her acquaintances, than I do working my web sites.
That said and done it is a wonderful 'tool' to have around the house, one both my wife and I can use.
kind regards and no regretts, Paul
