Offline to Online

More and more services and applications are moving to a web service. I noticed this recent announcement from Adobe mentioned on ZDNet about their popular Photoshop image-editing application. They are moving to a hosted web version possibly this year. CD-ROMs and the fancy-packaging days are slowing dwindling.

At least for me, what comes to mind is that each task or service that moves online will mean ANOTHER login and ANOTHER password to remember! Yikes.

Yikes !! is saying it mildly....I currently have about 45 logins to keep track of. My free version of RoboForm takes care of my wifes 10 accounts but that it....so, how does one rememeber them all. Well, I have a notepad text file saved and I just add or detete the logins as needed. If I need to I just look up an account by opening the file. I also, back this up every now and then.

What about other posters, "How do you all keep track of all those online 'Logins/Accounts ???"

Paul -- Do you encrypt the file where you keep all your passwords? That would be unfortunate if it ended up in the wrong hands......

You know, WS_FTP Pro has a great OpenPGP mode that lets you encrypt files very easily. Then only someone with the proper encryption key would be able to view the contents......
