Only 161 billion gigabytes?

161 billion gigabytes is the estimated amount of space necessary to store all the worldwide information generated in 2006. Here's an interesting NY Times article from the AP with a few projections of how many 1's and 0's are flying through our world.

Think of all the photos, videos, e-mails, Web pages, instant messages, and phone calls.
