Internet-based April Fool's Day Pranks
I hope everyone made it through April Fool's Day relatively unscathed of hoaxes and practical jokes. Here's a real funny slideshow put together by eWeek that show a dozen newsworthy (and memorable) April Fool's Day pranks from past years.
I actually remember about half of them. My favorites are the 1994 Drunk Web Surfing Bill, the 1997 Shutdown of the Internet for Spring Cleaning, and of course the 2003 report that a Computer Virus Spread to Humans.
"The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year." Mark Twain

Geez, I guess I am leading a more sheltered life than I thought...I haven't heard of any of those prank April 1st jokes but the one about Gmail...and that wasn't even a joke...and my wife thinks I spend too much time on the computer...obviously I am not spending enough...note to self: ya, gotta surf the Net more....
