Q: Why has WS_FTP LE been replaced?
A: There are two main reasons behind this decision. First, WS_FTP LE is an
older product and was designed to work with earlier versions of Windows. As
Microsoft releases new operating systems, WS_FTP LE becomes less reliable.
Second, users of WS_FTP LE were clamoring for an updated interface, new
features and the option of a Service Agreement (for product updates and
technical support). The decision was made to create the new Ipswitch WS_FTP
Home rather than update WS_FTP LE.
Q: Is WS_FTP Home a free FTP client?
A: No, but neither was WS_FTP LE. Ipswitch made WS_FTP LE available free
of charge for educational users at degree-earning institutions only. However,
WS_FTP Home is available as a

day evaluation.
Q: What happened to the WS_FTP LE tutorials
that used to be on FTPplanet.com?
A: They are still available. While we do not encourage the continued use of WS_FTP
LE, as it is an unsupported product and may not work effectively on all
