FTP Tip of the Week:
In both WS_FTP Pro and WS_FTP LE, it's always a good
idea to check 'auto'
under 'file transfer mode'. Using 'auto' will match
the correct transfer
mode for each file type; 'binary' for BMP or JPG
files and 'ASCII' for text
or HTML files.
SITE OF THE WEEK
NASA- a great FTP site for getting pictures from
space.

Although maybe not as useful as an FTP download site,
NASA's FTP site is
certainly a cool place to visit and explore. The
site is loaded with
archived NASA documents and images, many of which
can't be found on NASA's
accompanying website.
When you first log in, go to the 'pubs' directory.
There you're given a ton
of choices and all the folders are poorly labeled.
However, the massive
amount of content available in these directories makes
a little bit of
fumbling around really worth it.
NASA's FTP site may not pay great attention to
organization, but it
certainly encourages you to poke around to see what
you can find. Whether
you are a NASA fanatic or just want to find some great
pictures of the Earth
from space, the NASA FTP site is a great place to
visit.
