FTP Tip of the Week:

In both WS_FTP Pro and WS_FTP LE, it's easy to customize the sounds
associated with connections and transfers.  With WS_FTP open, click on
'Options' and then click on the 'Sounds' tab. There you'll see the list of
functions and their associated sound files.  For each function, click on the
button with the '...'  to browse your computer for .wav files.  Once you
select a new .wav file, it's then associated with that function.

Do you have a tip?  Send us your tips and we'll feature them in the
FTPplanet.com Newsletter.  Send tips to webmaster@FTPplanet.com with the
subject 'FTP Tips'.

FTP Site of the Week

Symantec's FTP Site: http://www.FTPplanet.com/nl.plx?050500:3

With the 'I Love You' virus running around, Symantec's FTP site is a
good place to go for anyone using a PC. The site has good architecture and
is available in a dozen different languages.

When you first log in, go to the 'public' sub-directory and then select your
language.  From there you can go to the 'products' sub-directory where
you'll find a complete list of all Symantec's products.  Within each of the
product sub-directories you can download manuals, demos, updates, and more.

If you're looking for the latest updates to Norton Antivirus, go to
'antivirus_definitions' and then to 'norton_antivirus'.  This directory will
have the latest updates appropriately labeled with the date the update was
issued.  The update for the 'I Love You' virus is '0504x86.exe'.

Post your own review of Symantec's FTP site and you could win a FREE copy
