FTP Tip of the Week:

Jim Weisgram, from the Oregon Department of Transportation, has a simple way
to create an 'index.txt' file of the directories on your computer:

1. "Using WS_FTP, navigate to the folder in question on the 'Local System'."
2. "Click the 'DirInfo' button. This will open the text editor defined in
your custom configuration with the directory information already pasted in."
3. "From there you can edit and save, or copy/paste the text into another
application."

Do you have a good FTP tip?  Send us your tips and we'll feature them in the
FTPplanet.com Newsletter.  Send tips to webmaster@FTPplanet.com with the

Featured FTP Site:

SEDS FTP Site: http://www.FTPplanet.com/nl.plx?071900:2

SEDS' (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) FTP site is
hosted by the University of Arizona, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory. The
SEDS FTP site is truly extraordinary. It's full of great images from space
and of the history of space exploration.

You'll first want to go to the 'pubs/' directory where you'll find a number
of self descriptive directories.  I first went to the 'images/' directory
and found hundreds of images in the various directories labeled 'sun/',
'deepspace/', 'shuttles/', 'supernovas/', 'comets/' and much, much more.

Once you get into a directory, the names can be difficult to decipher.
However, you can usually find an 'index' file that will help you
tremendously.

Whether you consider your self a space nut or not, this site is definitely
worth checking out.

Post your own review of the SEDS FTP site and you could win a FREE
