It is possible to open a .gif, .doc, or .html file
from either your local
or remote site from within WS_FTP.
To open a file in its associated program, highlight
the file and click the
'Exec' or 'Execute' button. WS_FTP will automatically
launch the
associated program for that file type and then open
the file. Note: Doing
this with an .html file will open it in your Web
browser as that is the
default program for this file type.
You can test this by connecting to ftp://ftp.ftpplanet.com
through WS_FTP
and trying it on the file 'welcome.htm'.

"I've tried a half a dozen different
"free" server sites and this one's got
them all beat.
Positive notes:
* allows flash movies
* multiple file uploads using ftp
* beaucoup space - 15MB! (usual offering is only 2mb)
* sensible links from GeoCities homepage
I'm running my own site, as well as sites for 4
customers. I moved from
Homestead when they started charging for space and
found it to work
perfectly for everything I've asked for so far. Go get
one!"
