FTP TIP: Accelerate
your Downloads using
Multipart Transfers
The newest version of WS_FTP
Pro (7.6) now enables you to
accelerate
the download of large files
by implementing multi-part
downloads. This
feature is particularly
effective when downloading
large files from an FTP
server that limits bandwidth
per connection.
The Multi-part download
feature allows WS_FTP Pro to
split a large file
(recommended for file sizes
over 1MB) into multiple
parts and use
multiple transfer
connections to download
those parts simultaneously.
These parts are recombined
into a single file upon
receipt. This minimizes
transfer time and increases
productivity!
To set the "Number of Parts
Used on Multipart
Transfers", click on the
'Transfers' tab in
'Options'. This feature is
not found in WS_FTP LE.

"Our family mail accounts get an
average five virus-laden e-mails
each week and since I installed avast!
3 months ago all have been
blocked, which was not the case with
the very well known AV
software I used previously.
This program has plenty going for it:
resident protection against
known viruses plus system behavior
monitoring to detect virus-like
activity, embedded e-mail protection,
data integrity checking to
detect unknown viruses and repair
infected files, explorer
integration, ICSA certification, and
weekly virus database updates.
And it's FREE for non-profit home use,
even the updates."
