NEWS: FTPplanet.com's
Third Year
Last
month, to celebrate our
third year, we asked for
your best FTP
stories. Everyone who
posted an FTP story won
a free copy of
WS_FTP Pro.
Congratulations!
Here
is an excerpt from
bear's post:
"Being new to computers
and the Internet, I
joined Boomspeed.com
hosting service, and
started using their
forum boards to try and
learn
about computers and web
page design, (HTML's)
One of the guys who
runs boomspeed suggested
I get and use WS_FTP LE.
I have tried..."

NEWS: NASA Uses FTP
Talk
about an interesting use
for FTP! NASA is using
FTP technology
on a
Web-enabled spacecraft
called CHIPS. Without a
doubt,
this
will be the longest
distance a file has ever
been transferred!

ARTICLE: Beginner's
Guide to Gaming
If you're new to
computer gaming,
you've probably
wondered what
kind
of equipment you
need in a good
"gaming
computer." This
week's
featured article
will go over
what your
computer needs
to play games,
where to get
games and more.
Excerpt:
"First, a good
gaming computer
should have
plenty of
memory.
Games are very
dependent upon
memory and
memory
contributes
more to game
performance
than..."
In both WS_FTP
LE and WS_FTP
Pro, you can
resume any
interrupted
download. When
you reconnect to
the remote FTP
server, you are
automatically
prompted to
resume the
download
- picking up the
failed download
right where it
left off.
In addition,
WS_FTP Pro
version 7.0 and
higher has a
Transfer
Manager that
allows you to
'resume' any
transfer (upload
or
download), even
when canceled
manually. That
means if a
transfer is
taking far too
long to
complete, you
can simply
cancel it and
resume the
transfer later.
To access the
Transfer
Manager, click
'View' from the
menu bar and
check Transfer
Manager. Any
previous
transfers that
were canceled or
interrupted will
show as
'Paused'.
Right-click on
the item and
select
'Start'. WS_FTP
Pro will then
ask you if you
would like to
Overwrite,
Skip, or Resume
the transfer.
Do you have a
good FTP tip?
Post it to the
discussion forum
and
you could
win a free copy
of WS_FTP Pro
7.6!
