FTP TIP:
Copying and Pasting
Files in WS_FTP Pro
Do you ever
wish you could
carry over
Copy and Paste
functionality
to
your FTP
connection?
Well, with
WS_FTP Pro you
can.
Not only can
you Copy and
Paste files
from Windows
Explorer, My
Computer, or
My Documents
to your remote
connection but
you can
also copy and
paste from one
folder to
another within
you remote
connection --
and it
couldn't be
easier.
From anywhere
within Windows
or WS_FTP Pro
simply
highlight the
file(s) you
wish to copy
and click your
right mouse
button. From
the
available
options,
select 'Copy.'
Now navigate
to the
destination
directory
or folder
within Windows
or WS_FTP Pro
and click your
right mouse
button again.
You'll now see
'Paste' as an
available
option. Select
'Paste'
and WS_FTP Pro
will Copy the
files to this
location.
This
functionality
is not
available in
WS_FTP LE.
Do you have a
good FTP tip?
Post it to the

SITE OF
THE WEEK
This week's
FTPplanet Site
of the Week is
from FTPplanet
community
member kendo,
who gives us
some
background on
his Web site:
"I did a
search on
Google for the
Catalina
N5593V flying
boat left as a
wreck
on a Saudi
Arabian beach
for over 40
years and
found nothing
showing
details of its
present state.
Whilst working
in Saudi my
wife and
myself
visited the
wreck and took
some
photographs
and I have set
up this web
site to
display some
of them and to
relate the
story of how
it came to be
abandoned.I
intend to
expand the
site to
display other
photographs
taken
during our
stay in
Saudi.I used
Namo Webditor
3 to build the
pages,
although Namo
has a built in
publisher I
prefer
WS_FTP95 LE to
upload
the pages as
it is easy to
understand and
simple to
use."
Kendo receives
a limited
edition
FTPplanet.com
t-shirt for
being the
FTPplanet Site
of the Week.

"JavaScript can do some
great things for your
website and this is a
very useful and GENEROUS
source of cut-and-paste
scripts to try.
You can get text
scrolling in the page or
in the status bar, pages
will
load with style using
fading background
effects. There are ten
(10)
different slideshow
scripts. Definitely a
website to add to your
Favourites list in a
category called
something like Web
Authoring
Resources. My only
criticism applies also
to most JavaScript
sites,
in my view there's not
enough emphasis placed
on the problem with
JavaScript, that the
different browsers
implement it
differently. Negrino
and Smith in JavaScript
for the World Wide Web
(excellent book)use
conspicuous symbols to
show if a script only
works in certain
browsers.
JavaScript is a marvel
but you have to be
cautious with it. (Which
is
why lately I've been
more interested in PHP!)."
