FTP TIP:
Submitted Tip,
FTP Beginner's
Tip
This week's tip
comes to us
courtesy of
FTPplanet
community
member
lifedoctrine:
"I'm fairly new
to the world of
the home page;
my site is basic
HTML.
When using FTP
to upload a new
page to my site,
I find it
helpful to
have my speakers
on. That way I
can hear the "oh
oh" when I have
been
unsuccessful,
and the happy
whirring sound
when
everything's
okay! Yey!"
Because
lifedoctrine's
tip was feature
in the
newsletter, she
wins an
FTPplanet 'Third
Trip Around the
Sun' t-shirt and
a copy of WS_FTP
Pro. Do
you have a good
FTP tip? Post it
to the
discussion forum
and
you could
win a free copy
of WS_FTP Pro
7.6!

"I've tried
Netscape 3 and
4 versions and
didn't like
them. I
skipped
Netscape 6 but
when I saw
Netscape 7 I
downloaded it
prompt! I
found it to be
faster than
Internet
Explorer and
earlier
versions of
Netscape. Also
I love the
pop-up
blocking that
Netscape has
on
version 7.01.
Netscape has
complete
support for
CSS2 and HTML,
and also
supports XSL,
XML,
JavaScript,
and also
support the
correct
mime type for
XHTML 1.0 -
1.1. That is
something very
few browsers
have. Internet
Explorer is
one of the
most lacking
browsers.
One thing
Netscape is
missing in the
cool junk mail
filter that
comes
with Mozilla
1.3. Overall
Netscape is
the best
browser I've
ever used.
I never missed
anything from
Microsoft or
any other
programs I
tried.
The tabbed
browsing is
very cool!
Also the
password
manager is
very
usefull. It's
a good
browser! Or
rather, It's
the BEST
browser EVER!"
