FEATURED TIP: Creating Your Own WS_FTP Sound Themes

 
With WS_FTP, creating yor own sound themes is as easy as transferring
a file. By changing the sounds in WS_FTP, you can create a more
personalized file transfer product. For example, you can create a nature
theme using a "chirping birds" sounds for successful transfers and a
"howling wolves" sound for failed transfers.

Be creative and create your own themes! A great resource for sounds is the
multimedia directory of UNC's Sunsite FTP site:
ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/multimedia/

To change WS_FTP sounds:
For WS_FTP Pro, you modify the sounds using the Windows Control
Panel. Click 'Start', 'Settings', 'Control Panel' and then select 'Sounds
...'. From the new Window, scroll down to the WS_FTP associated
sounds and change them to any .wav file on your system.

For WS_FTP LE, click on 'Options' from within the program and then click
on the 'Sounds' tab. You'll see the list of functions and their associated
sound files. For each function, click on the button with the '...' to browse
your computer for .wav files to associate with that function.

"I've been using various Mozilla versions for a year and a half or so now,
and am presently using 1.4. There are a number of reasons why I like
this browser, most particularly that I am able to block popups easily
and tweak security and other settings to my specifications. The tabbed
browsing is also a plus, since I frequently work with several other
programs running and have multiple browser pages open as well.

One drawback is the Composer - it creates very clunky code. At least
one can readily find and edit the code directly, and for basic page
creation it works well enough for a low-level user."
