FTP TIP -- Change double-click action in WS_FTP Home
By default, WS_FTP Home will execute a file when you
double-click it. You
can change this double-click action to view a file,
transfer a file or do
nothing.
To do this, go to the options menu by clicking
'Options' in the toolbar or
selecting 'Tools' and then 'Options' on the file menu.
One on the options screen, select 'Display' in the
left-hand column. A list
of options will appear on the right-hand side of the
options screen. The
last item is a drop-down list associated with
double-click action. Simply
select your desired action and click OK.
Ipswitch has published an excellent 'frequently asked
questions' (FAQ) page
on their Web site for WS_FTP Home. Some of the
questions answered
include:
o How does WS_FTP Home differ from WS_FTP
Professional?
o Why can't a consumer simply use email to transfer
files?
o What are the main features of Ipswitch WS_FTP Home?
Congratulations to Ascenath, creator of this week's
FTPplanet Site of the
Week.
Ascenath says, "I created my family website three
years ago and posted it to
the web using the WS_FTP95 provided to me by my
server. It was easy to
use and still does everything I need it to do at this
point. However, I
would like to upgrade to the WS_FTP Home version
soon."
You'll be upgrading to WS_FTP Home shortly, since
you've just won a
free copy!
Post your Web site to the 'Your Web Site' discussion
forums with a
description of how FTP has helped you and you can win
a free copy

Last week, we were curious "What annoys you most about
the Internet?"
We were surprised that the top response wasn't spam,
but we shouldn't have
been. Most of you were annoyed by what most annoys us:
pop-up ads (not
to mention those animated ads that appear when you're
trying to read
something).
