Ipswitch has released new versions of WS_FTP Home and
WS_FTP Professional. These new versions have a ton of
new features, including:
- Workspaces (see below for a tutorial)
- Skins
- Increased customization
- E-mail notifications
- ZIP compression
- Improved thumbnails
Some of these features are exclusive to the WS_FTP
Professional version.

--> New Tutorials for WS_FTP 2006
FTPplanet.com has two new tutorials up for the new
WS_FTP versions.
The first one goes over the new workspaces features.
Workspaces is the concept of having a specific
configuration of remote and local folders and sites
saved for easy access. Click here for the tutorial:

The second tutorial guides you step-by-step through
WS_FTP's new ability to import FTP sites from other
FTP clients. You can view this tutorial here:

--> Article: "WS_FTP Professional Compression Mode"
One of the new features exclusive to WS_FTP
Professional 2006 is the ZIP compression mode. This
feature allows you to compress your files into a
single compressed file before uploading.
Informal testing by FTPplanet shows that this
feature can decrease file size by almost 90%.
