The FTPplanet.com newsletter is sent out every other week.
Each issue is full of helpful FTP tips, FTP sites, product
reviews, and FTP-related news from FTPplanet.com.
Greetings,
This week, the FTPplanet.com newsletter is
featuring:
- WS_FTP LE Tip: Default Connection Folders
- Free Image Hosts
- Turn Your PC Into An FTP Server
--> WS_FTP LE Tip: Default Connection Folders
In WS_FTP LE, do you find that you always go
through the same process of locating the correct
folders on your local system and your remote
system before starting your file transfers? You
don't have to do this.
In WS_FTP LE, you can set startup default folders
very easily:
1. Make your connection and navigate to the
desired folders on both your local and remote
system.
2. Click on the 'Options' button.
3. Click the 'Set current folders as default
connection folders' button.
4. Click the 'Ok' button.
That's it! Next time you start WS_FTP LE, you
will automatically go to these folders so you
can instantly start transferring.
In WS_FTP Pro and Home, you don't need to do
this step as WS_FTP will remember what folders
you were last in.
--> Free Image Hosts
There's a popular thread in our discussion
forums about free image hosts. If you're
looking for a free option, check our this
thread and find a solution for you:

Of course, while these solutions are free,
they aren't always the ideal solution. For
example, you can usually only upload one
image at a time. Also, your images are often
surrounded by advertisements and can't always
be linked to directly. Be sure to check the
terms of each free image host for any
possible restrictions.
--> Choosing the Right Web Hosting Provider
There are hundreds (if not thousands or more)
options for web hosting. With so many options
out there, how do you know what is right for
you?
FTPplanet's featured article, "Choosing the
Right Web Hosting Provider," will help you
decide what direction to go in. Here is a
short excerpt from the article:
"Before you decide on a hosting provider or
plan, you must first evaluate what your
hosting needs will be. Take the time to
write down what options or features you will
need. For example, if you want to start an
online catalog of products for sale, you may
need access to a database and various e-commerce
solutions such as a shopping cart, credit card
processing or a secure server. Be sure to ask
potential hosting providers about these options
and the extra costs involved."
