We often hear about FTP problems that can
easily be fixed on the server end of things.
If you're running an FTP server, here are
a few tips we've put together:
- Be sure to have your FTP server live so
that people can connect to it.
- Test your FTP server before allowing people
to connect. This includes testing permissions.
- Speaking of permissions, be careful not to
give users permissions that they shouldn't have.
You don't want someone to accidentally delete
files.
- Keep logs of all activity. This can help you
troubleshoot should a problem occur.
