Using Active Edit to Update a Remote File

Active Edit makes it easy to edit files on a remote server (such as your Web host) using your favorite programs. With this feature, you no longer need to download and re-upload the files you want to edit -- WS_FTP Pro does it for you.

This tutorial will show you how to use the WS_FTP Pro Active Edit feature to make edits to your remote files. To use the Active Edit feature, you will need the following:

• An active connection to the Internet 
• WS_FTP Pro (version 8.0) installed on your computer

To begin, you will need to connect to the Internet. Then open WS_FTP Pro by clicking on the WS_FTP Pro icon that's on your desktop.  If you do not have a WS_FTP Pro icon on your desktop, click on the Start button and then select Programs, then WS_FTP, and then WS_FTP Pro.
