Using Active Edit to Update a Remote File

Before you can edit your file, you need to configure an editor and extension. Select Program Options from the Options menu and select the Active Edit dialog (in the left hand column under General).
In this example, we are going to configure WS_FTP Pro to open all text files (files with the extension .txt) in Notepad. However, you may select whatever Extension and Editor you desire (for example, you may wish to open all .html files in FrontPage or all .gif files in Photoshop).
Click on the Add button to add a new entry.
The Active Edit Properties dialog appears.
