'Create Shortcut' window should now be open. First
you'll need locate the item you want to shortcut to, i.e.
WS_FTP. You
can browse to the location of you WS_FTP executable or
simply cut and paste the following (these are the default
locations for these programs): For
WS_FTP Pro: "C:\Program Files\WS_FTP Pro\wsftppro.exe"
For
WS_FTP LE: "C:\Program
Files\WS_FTP\WS_FTP95.exe"
However,
you're not done so please don't
click the Next button yet.
You'll also need
to add your FTP site profile information or you'll just be
creating a shortcut to WS_FTP. Following
the closing quote in the text you just entered, you'll need
to add the name of your FTP profile along with some DOS controls. For
this example, let's use the Ipswitch FTP site profile (which
comes with every version of WS_FTP). For
WS_FTP Pro add: -i Ipswitch.ini -p Ipswitch -s Ipswitch:
For WS_FTP LE add: -p Ipswitch -s Ipswitch:
- The '-i Ipswitch.ini' is the
folder that the profile is contained in. For profiles
stored in the MySites folder, use original.ini.
This value is not unnecessary
in WS_FTP LE since it does not have folders to store
profiles.
- The "-p Ipswitch" is
just the profile name
- The "-s Ipswitch" is
also the profile name
- Be sure to end the line
with a colon ':'
You view your FTP site
profiles every time you launch WS_FTP. To
create shortcuts to other profiles, simply substitute the
new profile folder name and profile name:
"C:\Program
Files\WS_FTP Pro\ftp95pro.exe" -i profilefolder.ini
-p profilename -s profilename:
Note:
This shortcut will not work with profile names or
folder names that have spaces in them. A
work-around is to replace the spaces in your names
with underscores ( _ ).
You can now
click the Next > button.
