Now let’s add the location of the remote folder. Click on the browse(…) button to the right of Location2. In the Folder selection dialog, navigate to your site profile
for ftp.FTPplanet.com. Click on the ‘plus sign’ to the left of the site profile name to display a list of all the folders within this site. Select the folder WS_FTPSynchRemote within the tutorials directory
by clicking on the folder name once and clicking the OK button. The path to the folder should now appear under Location2.
Note: The WS_FTP Pro Synchronize Utility also allows you to synchronize two remote directories.
Now that we have entered the locations of our local and remote folders, we can select the synchronize options we want to use. Under Options, select Show
files/folders that won’t be transferred and Visual compare only.
Note: Before executing your synchronize job, it’s always wise to select ‘Visual compare only’. This allows you to view the results of your job before it is executed to make sure they are what you intended.
From the dropdown, select the mode you want the synchronization to operate in. For this tutorial, we want to select the second option (Synchronize Location1 <- Location2). This mode updates Location1 (the folder on your local system) so that it matches Location2 (the folder on ftp.FTPplanet.com). Your option selections should now match the ones below.
