Part II - Using Batch Mode to Add Files to the Transfer Manager
One of the great features of WS_FTP Pro and its Transfer Manager is the ability to transfer files from different directories and FTP sites within the same batch. You do this by using Batch Mode.
For this tutorial, we'll be downloading files from an anonymous FTP connection to ftp.FTPplanet.com. If you need assistance connecting to an anonymous FTP site, click here.
Once connected to ftp.FTPplanet.com, navigate to the desired destination folder on your local system (My Documents, Desktop, etc.) as you would for a normal transfer.
If it isn't already, open the Transfer Manager and make sure the Transfers tab is selected. For help on opening and using the Transfer Manager, see Part I - Monitoring, Pausing and Starting Transfers with WS_FTP Pro.
Once you have opened the Transfer Manager, put WS_FTP Pro in Batch Mode by clicking on the Batch Mode button or selecting Use Batch Mode from the Tools menu.

Once in Batch Mode, you can select which files to add to your 'batch'. For the purpose of this tutorial, we will be selecting files from two different directories.
In the Remote System, select the file, batch1.txt, and click the download transfer arrow.
The file will be placed in the Transfer Manager as a 'paused' transfer.
Now open (double click) the folder, Sample Files, in the Remote System. Select the files, batch2.txt and batch3.txt, by holding down the Ctrl key and selecting each file. Click the transfer arrow. Your window should now look like the one below. Click on the 'plus sign' to the left of the source name to view the files that have been selected.

Note: The status of the files is "Paused". They have not yet been transferred to your local system. The files will only be transferred when you select Start from the Transfer menu.
